There are not a lot of Jeep diesel models available compared to gasoline Jeeps, but there are some models available. Diesel models are louder, but diesel engines can last longer, have a lot of torque and towing capabilities, and diesel vehicles do get better gas mileage. For example, the Jeep Grand Cherokee two-wheel drive diesel model gets 23 miles per gallon on the high way and 18 miles per gallon in the city, while the Jeep Grand Cherokee two-wheel drive gasoline model gets 20 miles per gallon on the high way, and 15 miles per gallon in the city. A few of the Jeep diesel models that are available include the Liberty and the Grand Cherokee. The latest diesel model is the 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee, which you can probably find at Jeep dealerships and used car lots. If you are not interested in the newest diesel models, there are older diesel models available that you can buy used. You can find used Jeep diesel models at used car lots, in automotive magazine classifieds, on vehicle listings online, and on online auction sites. You can also find a jeep diesel, or swap your engine for a diesel engine, at body shops and companies that specialize in diesel cars. Finding an older used jeep with a diesel engine can be difficult, and expensive, but if you have your heart set on a diesel model, you should be able to find one that fits your price range if you look hard enough.
